The company was founded in 2012 in Brisbane, Australia. Its early focus was on simplifying the complex wage and compliance environment in Australia, particularly around modern awards and labor regulations. Over time, the platform grew beyond compliance into rostering, time & attendance, payroll, and HR software — always with a focus on automating rules and reducing the administrative burden on managers.

After building deep expertise in compliance technology and establishing a strong base in Australia, the company launched in the United States.

Tanda remains independently owned, with no outside investors or private equity influence, allowing it to prioritize long-term value and continuous improvement for its customers rather than short-term returns.
